As someone who’d rather chew glass than configure Webpack, the “no build” approach Rails 8 has taken is right up my street. I grew up on server-side generated pages as I went through Perl CGI.pm, PHP, Java & Struts and onwards to the “modern era” and really like how I can still use a modernized version of that approach instead of running the entirety of the application in a browser and relegating the backend to purely processing streams of JSON.
